Major Depressive Disorder / Depression
Major Depressive Disorder (Depression) is a mood disorder that causes persistent feelings of sadness and loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It can also affect sleep, energy levels, concentration, appetite, and daily functioning. Symptoms typically last at least two weeks and can have a significant impact on a person’s wellbeing and quality of life.
Cyclothymia Disorder
Cyclothymic Disorder, or Cyclothymia, involves ongoing fluctuations between mild depressive symptoms and periods of elevated mood that are less intense than those seen in bipolar disorder. These mood changes persist over time and can affect emotional stability and daily life.
Persistent Depressive Disorder (Dysthymia)
Persistent Depressive Disorder, also known as Dysthymia, is a long-term form of depression involving a consistently low mood lasting for two years or more. Symptoms may be less severe than major depression but can still impact energy, self-esteem, motivation, and overall wellbeing.
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome characterised by significant mood changes, irritability, depression, or anxiety in the days before menstruation. These symptoms can interfere with daily life, relationships, and work, and typically improve shortly after the menstrual period begins.
Depressive disorders can significantly affect motivation, sleep, appetite, concentration and daily functioning. Our psychiatrists help you understand your symptoms and develop a treatment plan that restores stability and improves quality of life.
