ADHD Assessments for Adults (18+):
Step-by-Step Process
Adult ADHD can present with inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, emotional dysregulation, executive-function challenges, and longstanding functional impairment.
Our assessment is designed to determine whether these symptoms are consistent with ADHD or another mental health condition.
1. Clinical Questionnaires
Validated ADHD questionnaires are completed by you and your relative or close contact to support the diagnostic assessment and provide additional clinical insight into symptoms and executive functioning.
2. First Appointment, including interview with relative
(1h 15 min)
A comprehensive online consultation exploring symptoms, daily functioning, clinical history and possible co-occurring conditions. Input from a relative or close contact also form part of the assessment to provide additional developmental and behavioural insight.
3. Diagnostic Feedback
(30 min)
Your psychiatrist will review the assessment findings, discuss the diagnosis and provide personalised treatment recommendations and next steps. If another condition better explains your difficulties, alternative recommendations and treatment options will be discussed.
4. Follow-Up Session (Titration)
(30 min)
If medication is recommended, a titration appointment is arranged to initiate treatment safely and monitor response, dosage and side effects.
