Eda is a highly skilled Specialist Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with eight years’ clinical experience working in NHS mental health services and she continues to practice within the NHS in this role. Eda has worked with children, young people, families and parents/carers across a range of NHS settings, supporting individuals to explore and understand the difficulties they are experiencing and to support their emotional development.
She completed her clinical training on the Professional Doctorate programme at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, where she has also contributed both clinically and as a visiting lecturer. Her professional experience includes significant roles within the NHS, including CAMHS, school-based services and the Adolescent and Young Adult Department at the Tavistock Clinic, which provides exploratory psychotherapy for children and young people up to the age of 25. Through this work, she has developed a particular interest in supporting young people and young adults during the critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She specialises in both longer-term, in-depth psychoanalytic psychotherapy and shorter-term therapeutic work. Her approach aims to help you explore in depth the difficulties you may be experiencing and to support you in developing a fuller understanding of your experiences. She has experience working with a wide range of personal, complex emotional, relational and interpersonal difficulties, including patterns of thinking, feeling and relating that can be hard to change or understand.
At times, young people may find it difficult to identify exactly what they are struggling with, and it can feel as though there are multiple, diverse and overlapping challenges that are difficult to make sense of. Eda’s therapeutic approach is thoughtful and containing, offering a flexible and non-judgemental space in which young adults, young people and their families can reflect on complex emotional experiences.
In addition to her work with children, young people and young adults, she also offers support to parents and carers navigating challenges in their relationships with their children or adolescents.Whether working directly with young people or supporting parents, Eda bring depth of understanding and a strong commitment to helping others build more fulfilling lives.
